Sea Breeze is a private luxury villa situated by the sea in one of the most stunning locations on the island with outstanding views and a peaceful sense of space. A wide veranda along two sides of the house provides a scenic 180° view of the ocean.
Since the villa reopened in 2004, it has been fully refurbished so just about everything is new and in pristine condition including furniture, beds and white goods, not to mention the swimming pool and jacuzzi filters and pumps! There are six air-conditioned bedrooms and six bathrooms, with accommodation for up to ten people. The villa is built on two main levels, an upper and a pool level, with 3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms on each and both have private entrances. There is also a lift/elevator and staircase connecting the floors and an a/c upper floor which we plan to make into a games room (later in 2008).
There are two double rooms and one single room on each floor, and all the rooms (except the single downstairs) have en-suite bathrooms. On the upper level are the fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable ‘great room’ with numerous windowed double doors that lead to the veranda and to the large patio - heaven for sun-worshippers during the day, and an al fresco dining area in the evenings.
In addition to the three bedrooms on the lower level, there is a second, small kitchen and pretty living room with French windows opening out onto the pool area.
The entrance drive is lined with stately palms, and curves through more than an acre of colourful tropical shrubs and mature fruit trees. One of the great pleasures of staying at Sea Breeze during the summer months is being able to help yourself to fresh mango, lime, grapefruit, banana and avocado.
The roofed Jacuzzi and swimming pool are set to the side of the house with uninterrupted views of the ocean. Behind the villa, private steps lead down to the shoreline, where the adventurous can enjoy spectacular snorkelling from the rocks, and swim or clamber to a small secluded beach accessible only to a few houses. Alternatively, the charming, palm-fringed crescent of Bacolet Beach is less than a five-minute stroll away - some of our more intrepid guests have swum there from the villa. This beach was the location for the 1960 film 'Swiss Family Robinson', and is still just as unspoilt - except that now you can get lunch and a drink at the No Problem bar, run by the local hotel.
Our friendly maid, Vernette, will help to make your stay extremely relaxing. She will clean the house, make the beds and do the dishes; she can also cook for you if you want to eat in.
Felix keeps the garden clean and tidy, and will probably ply you with fresh fruit - mango, coconut, grapefruit, orange or banana, depending on the time of year.
The property managers, Sonya and Michael, live next door and are in overall charge of the house and garden. They will meet you at the airport, stock the house with food, clean the pool, adjust the Jacuzzi... any problems at all, they are there to help!
